I’m Gabby Ackerman, and I’d love to share my story with you.

Growing up with significant hearing loss, I faced many challenges. I attended a remedial school and wore hearing aids, which I initially tried to hide because I thought they were unattractive. My speech was also affected due to a cleft palate that required multiple surgeries. Despite often feeling misunderstood, I found comfort in the support of my family and close friends.

It took time for me to embrace my differences and feel comfortable with myself. My mother’s words, “She is different, not disabled, and being different is okay,” resonated deeply with me. With the unwavering love and support of my husband, family, and friends, I began to appreciate and love my uniqueness.

This journey inspired me to create Sunshine Creative, where my mission is to make ears with hearing aids beautiful and attractive. I design stunning bespoke earrings that transform ears with hearing aids from something to hide into something to showcase proudly. My handcrafted earrings not only enhance the appearance of hearing aids but also celebrate individuality and personal style.
